NOTES
1. 2 Harley Place, New Road became 11 Harley Place, Marylebone Road by order on 20 February 1857
and Wilkie started using the address in October that year..
2. Herbert Watkins, Photographer of 179 and later 215 Regent Street.
Three weeks earlier on 20 March Wilkie had written asking for three copies of the
'admirable profile' photograph
which Watkins had taken. He also took a
full length study of Wilkie in 1861.
3. His latest published book was The Dead Secret published 1 June 1857
