This photograph has recently been dated at 1857. In a letter to Herbert Watkins 20 March 1858 (Public Face I 157) Collins says "Your admirable (profile) Photograph of me".
Originally published in The Critic 5 June 1858. This image is used as the basis for the engraving used by Harper & Brothers for No Name in 1863 and for other later images.
