Photograph by Herbert Watkins of 215 Regent Street. Wilkie gave him exclusive rights to a full length portrait. This image was taken in May 1861 shortly after the image published in The Woman in White. The reverse shows the name and address of Herbert Watkins and his device and motto - Semper Fidelis - always faithful.

There is one known variant of this image. The picture below shows several slight differences. Both the hands are in different places, there is a changed inclination of the head, and the right leg obscures the chair leg completely.
