Berger

Tavistock House
Tuesday Thirteenth January
1857.

My Dear Berger.

Will you do me the
favor to accept the little
memorial I send with this, in
remembrance of our pleasant
play and the obligations it owes
to you. I can never forget
the pains you have taken with it,
or the spirit and genius with
which you have rendered it
high service. I hope these

slight ornaments may lie lightly on
your breast during some part of
a brilliant career, and I heartily
assure you that your fortunes
will always be full of interest
to me.

Very faithfully yours
Charles Dickens
