The jacket of the first edition of The Hungry Goblin by John Dickson Carr, published in London by Hamish Hamilton. The story features Wilkie Collins in a Victorian pastiche of 1869. The jacket design is by Bernard Higton and the picture seems to be based on the photograph in the early 1860s by Herbert Watkins.
