Published in The St. Louis Illustrated Magazine IV No4 June 1884 p243 to illustrate a short essay about Wilkie Collins by Alexander N De Menil.which concludes "So far - and he is now sixty years of age - he has not produced one single work which will live half-a-century after his death."

The engraving is clearly based on earlier images.
