Wilkie's friend John Everett Millais drew this frontispiece for Mr. Wray's Cash-Box. It waws his first book illustration and the only one he did for Wilkie until the frontispiece for the one volume edition of No Name in 1864. The drawing is signed J.E.Millais and predates his monogram.
