Edward A Buck was the editor of The Spirit of the Times, a New York publication generally devoted to sports and the arts and for which Collins wrote a Christmas story each year from 1876 to 1887. This envelope probably enclosed copy for ‘How I married him’ published in The Spirit of the Times 24 December 1881.
