Dear Listener

Has the Bank of England lost control of inflation? The Governor of the Bank of England – no less – warned this week that inflation would rise over the next year. And figures out this week shows it is rising now and on some measures as high as it’s been since 1991/92. We ask a top economist if the Bank is doing its job.

A national debt advice charity sets up a special team to deal with mortgage arrears as repossessions rise sharply in 2007 – and are predicted to rise further this year.

Some people in mortgage difficulties turn to companies that buy their home for cash and then let them rent it back. We debate the rival bids to set down a code of practice for this controversial business.

And April will see the biggest shake-up for ISAs – tax-free savings and investments. What will the new rules mean for your savings opportunities?

All that in this week’s Money Box. Saturday at noon and Sunday at nine pm. If you can’t be near a radio then why not download the podcast and play it on your MP3 player when it suits you? Or just listen online. Find both through our page www.bbc.co.uk/moneybox

Best wishes

Paul Lewis
